Soon, the Yellow Line

The much-awaited Yellow Line of Namma Metro is soon to be launched, if all goes according to plan.

By end-July or early August, Bangaloreans can look forward to one more route to navigate the city, with all the advantages and ease of metro commuting.

The Yellow Line will connect RV Road to Bommasandra, passing through many key areas in the southern part of Bengaluru. The 18.8 km fully elevated stretch will eventually link 16 stations, starting from RV Road and going through Ragigudda, Jayadeva Hospital, the residential and commercial BTM Layout, the most important junction Central Silk Board, Bommanahalli, Hongasandra, Kudlu Gate, Singasandra, Hosa Road, Beratena Agrahara, Konappana Agrahara, the booming IT hub Electronic City, Huskuru Road, Hebbagodi, and will end with Bommasandra.

Initially three trains are to start with 7 stops out of the total 16 planned stations, increasing in a phased manner in due course.

The Yellow Line is in addition to the existing Green Line and Purple Line, criss-crossing across the city. Apart from these, the larger Metro expansion plan for Bengaluru includes Pink and Blue Lines as well which will be the next phase.

The biggest benefit of Metro Lines is that it lets commuters save time by bypassing the ever-increasing road traffic snarls and the tangled never-ending jams and winding webs of vehicles everywhere.

Soon, the people in the Yellow Line route can heave a sigh of relief. Let’s keep fingers crossed till the launch date.
