Exit and Re-entry Permit and Tax Clearance

As a registered resident, one must have permission to leave from and return to India.

If you are here on a long-term contract, you should apply for a multiple exit and re-entry visa. You can do this before you arrive in India. This visa is generally valid until the expiration of the work permit. With proof of an extended work permit, the renewal of the multiple-entry visa is simple. Initial application for the multiple visa should be made with your registration to avoid loss of time should you need to leave India unexpectedly.
