Weathering the weather
“Whether the weather be good,
or whether the weather be not,
whether the weather be cold,
or whether the weather be hot,
we’ll weather the weather,
whatever the weather,
whether we like it or not!”
This little poem by an anonymous British writer is an apt description of Bengaluru’s current weather conditions where we don’t know from one day to the next what we will have to weather.
From hot sunny afternoons to chilly mornings and nippy evenings, these last few days have been wet and drizzly non-stop on the Deccan Plateau, leading to cold nights and gloomy days, creating havoc in parts and pockets of the city.
The incessant wetness is neither here nor there. Neither pouring hard enough to warrant staying indoors completely, nor letting up to allow free unhindered movement for daily activities.
So the trusty umbrellas and raincoats have come out for a semblance of rescue, and yet you come back feeling as squishy as the puddles that have formed aplenty over the potholes.
Grin and bear it.
