Telugu Samskruthika Niketanam

Also known as the World Telugu Museum, this institution was established to highlight the historical significance and cultural richness of Telugu. Located atop Kailasagiri Hill, the museum offers an immersive experience, featuring a captivating light and sound show narrated by actor Sai Kumar, which provides insightful glimpses into Telugu history.

INS Kurusura Submarine Museum

RK Beach, Near War Memorial

Set up in 2011, the museum houses the INS Kurusura that was constructed by the Russians in 1969, reaching India in 1970. It served the Indian Navy greatly until 2001, after which it was decommissioned. The submarine has experienced and played a vital role in various wars, including the Indo-Pak war of 1971. It is the first submarine turned museum in Asia.

Queen Victoria Pavilion

Raja Rammohan Roy Road, Vada Street.

It is one of the oldest statues which is made entirely out of bronze. It is astonishing to know that the celebrated Queen Victoria of England, during her reign in India, had a ‘home’ in Visakhapatnam. It is located on the crossroads near the office of Old Registrar and the old, dilapidated State Bank building.The bronze statue erected at the pavilion was a gift presented by the British Government to the town during the visit of Zamindar Akitam Venkata JaggaRao to England in 1900. Inaugurated on 4 May 1904, this patrimony is over a century old.

Visakha Museum 

Dr NTR Beach Road

Located in the port city which houses the historical treasures and artifacts of the Kalingandhra region. It was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N. Janardhana Reddy on October 8, 1991, owned by Government of India.The museum is dated back to about 260 BC, tracing through the history of the city and depicting the various aspects of culture that the city inhabits.Timings: Monday-Friday: 11am-7pm.

Sat-Sun: 12noon-8pm. Entry: Adult Rs 10 Children Rs 5.
