Newsworthy Nuggets

We got a glimpse of the Union Budget 2025 presented by Fin Min Nirmala Seetharaman recently, and by all accounts and analyses, she has batted for the vast and ever-growing middle class of India which is an entity in itself. Tax relief is on the way.

The people of Delhi meanwhile have voted for a change of guard at the Centre with AAP losing to BJP in the just-concluded polls. The rise and fall of Arvind Kejriwal makes for an interesting sociological and political case study, tracing his trajectory from clean crusader to corruption cohort.

Mahakumbh has been ruling the airwaves with its record-shattering gathering of over 40 crore devotees taking a dip in the holy waters to wash off their sins. The staggering numbers of people headed there is showing no signs of abating, the crowds are mind-boggling and no one wants to let go of this chance to cleanse the slate.

Looking beyond India, the deadly duo of Donald Trump and Elon Musk seem to be on a high-octane rampage, like wild elephants let loose and no one able to reign them in. A flight full of illegal Indian immigrants have been unceremoniously returned to the soil already. What else the future holds and where this will all end remains to be seen as history unfolds itself before our very eyes.

Let’s hope some good comes out of everything – the Budget, the leadership change at the Centre, the Mahakumbh melee, forever glittering gold, and even the Trump-Musk juggernaut.
