Goddess Lakshmi appeared in her devotees\u2019 dreams, expressing her wish for a roofless temple. In 1907, the Kanaka Mahalakshmi Temple, now one of the most famous temples in Visakhapatnam, was completed. The well is now filled with idols of Ashta Lakshmis. Devotees believe that the Goddess helps resolve their problems and fulfills their wishes. According to legend, the deity of Lord Venkateswara was recovered from under the rocks here.
