January Jottings\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first month of the year is always a blank canvas to fill with the colours of life in all its multi-hued possibilities that will extend for the year as it unfolds ahead.<\/p>\n

As we look forward, a glance at the back is also a draw. The year ended with several greats who gained immortality on the pages of history with their passing. Among them:<\/p>\n

Zakir Hussain the maverick maestro who won hearts the world over with his wild locks that swayed to the beats of his tabla.<\/p>\n

Our ex-PM Manmohan Singh who as FM brought in liberalisation, a staunch personality that stoically focussed on hard honest work without the hype and the noise.<\/p>\n

To them we pay our homage.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, L&T supremo with his 90-hour work week suggestion and the flippant remark about how much to stare at one\u2019s wife gave media much fodder for memes galore. To say nothing of the genderist nature of that statement.<\/p>\n

Moving on, Pongal\/ Sankranti is just behind us, and Republic Day is coming up with the accompanying Lalbagh Flower Show extravaganza that Bangaloreans can look forward to in the latter part of the month. The bi-annual horticultural is a must-visit event for all nature lovers for its lavish display of exotic blooms.<\/p>\n

Get the first month off to a flying start and the rest of the year will follow suit.<\/p>\n
